His
performance was held at the All India Music Conference held
in Baroda in the year 1941. Here he was blessed by Khansaheb
Faiyaz Khansab, who was an aritist at the Baroda Darbar.
At
the age of fifteen, Pandharinath gave his first performance
on the Bombay station of All India Radio (A.I.R.). He hasn't
looked back ever since. He continued his Talim under the
guidance of Prof. B.R.Deodharji, a towering personality
of his time and Pandt Kumar Gandharva.
Pt.
Pandharinath is the author of
Shiv
Putra (in marathi, now in hindi), a vivid commentary
on the life of Pandit Kumar Gandharva. Today Pt. Pandharinath
continues teaching, doing riyaz and runs a trust called
Veena Vardayini. He is
also a member of the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya
and the Samvad foundation.
Pt.
Pandharinath lives in Mumbai with his wife Nirupama. He
has three daughters; Shivangi, Padmini and Tejaswini. |
